Dachau

Hey everyone. So it has been WAY too long since I've checked in and I feel like a complete loser. I wanted to give you all a heads up on the video that's dropping tomorrow and let you take a look before anyone else. This is by far the longest video that I've ever posted on the channel. I guess we'll see how it goes. Getting this one past the YouTube content moderation team was a bit of a chore, but we got it done.

After this, we have a few more videos connected to Dachau that we'll be showing. The next one is at a place that gets almost zero attention where a lot of the killings at Dachau took place. Then we'll have an episode of American Artifact that shows a concentration camp uniform that came out of Dachau. We'll wrap it up with a more narrow focus on the story of Martin Niemöller, who was one of the men imprisoned at Dachau and emerged from that place with a powerful story.

The episode tomorrow will run ad free. I couldn't in good conscience turn the ads on for this video. It just didn't feel right. So thank you all for your continued support and for filling in the gap on this video. I appreciate you all more than you know. I'll check back in soon with some news about some big plans that have developed for this year.

Later!

What a moving video. Just thinking about what happened to so many in these camps can be mind boggling. But seeing the places, hearing the stories moves me to tears. Thank you for sharing this, and continuing to fight the fight to educate.

Powerful. Poignant. Excellent job telling this important part of history.

I visited Dachau in 1987....

Thank you JD for the sneak peek of this video. I echo the others sentiments of such a well done job of educating others on such a sobering place and event. You sir are a great human.

Very well done JD. This past September I took a Stephen Ambrose tour (D-Day to Rhine Tour). The extended post trip included visits to Nuremberg, Munich, Dachau, and Berchtesgaden and Eagles nest. Unfortunately at the time I couldn’t justify spending $1k per day for the 3 extra days. I now regret for not seeing those additional sites. Looks like another trip that I will need to take. Thank you sir for what you and sharing with us all.

Excellent, but very sobering video. Thanks for sharing important history, especially the personal stories that really brought home the evil of this place.

Thank you for this excellent video. You are keeping history alive with your work, and protecting it for future generations.

Thanks JD. I'll be sharing this one out when it goes live.

I’m left without words! First, let me just say I love watching this a day early, I’m always at church when Sunday videos post, so I get to watch them late. I would love for Patreon supporters to always get sneak peeks! Second this video is excellent, it’s very moving, emotional and compelling! However, it does not celebrate the evil that was done there. Quite the opposite…you really capture the somber yet profound lessons to be learned there! Yes, I agree, commercial content in the middle of this would be an injustice. Well done JD. I increased my monthly contribution I certainly believe you’ve earned it! God Bless!
