Thanks so much for that extra detail man! Adds a whole extra layer to the scene. Crazy to think that "humanity" that Meruem showed in saying that towards Pitou came from the very thing that Pouf detests in his relationship with Komugi. I love that the guards aren't all just "loyal to be loyal" but they have different takes on it and experiences with Meruem. Really makes them super unique and interesting to watch!

My heart's beating too fast during the countdown. And yo, I really love the narrator too. I think it leveled up Togashi's storytelling. Meruem picking up Komugi with so much care and tenderness in front of Netero, Zeno, and Pito was one of my favorite scenes in this arc. It shows so much depth, rawness, and emotions. It also shows this is not your typical good vs evil anymore. Togashi's such a genius. And yes Gon you need to calm the fuck down please 😩

2025-05-17 14:22:19 +0000 UTCIt's not clearly depicted here but the reason why Pitou cried was because her supreme King and Ruler not only gave her an order but he looked her straight in the eyes with 'unmasked' intention and spoke the words: ' I'm counting on you ' Which is something Meruem wouldn't have said before the development through Komugi. It touched her loyalty on a whole different level.
