The thing about empathy and stuff, I think it was also the way Togashi comedically use the term "You are what you eat." Most commanders was born when the Queen still eats villagers. Sadistic commanders, Royal Guards, and eventually the King was born after the Queen eats underground NGL's army. They represents the worst side of humanity as we can see from Gyro's past and his current motivations. I think that also the thing that differentiate Colt, Peggy, and few others.

When Colt said, upon seeing Netero's nen, that he would likely be killed instantly by a Royal Guard, it made me kind of scared because how the f are they gonna deal with this? And yes! I love how we're starting to see the depth of this arc! Looking forward to the next eps! <3
