What did we get up to over the weekend? 👀 I tried something a little new and produced a LoFi beat 🤣 It’s really barebones and basic as hell but it was cool to try something I’ve wanted to for a while!
Also, does anyone even go to bookstores these days man?
I seem to have such a love/hate relationship with them. I love them because…books! But I hate them because of choice paralysis and I’ll check out a good book just to see that the cover is like MANGLED or the corners are so worn. Not to mention 80% of the “what’s trending” stuff just doesn’t seem to be for me 😭

I go to the bookstores... most of the time I just browse and add books to my list of books I want to buy haha... also books are still fairly cheap here - books in Serbian are usually around 8-10 EUR and books in English are around 15-20 EUR (unless of course they are some special editions/bigger hardcovers... but even those more expensive ones are around 30-40 EUR). Back when I was a student I used to wait for Belgrade book fair and then I would buy a bunch of books for lower price as all the publishers would have their stands there and then at some point I needed to stop because I had no more space on my shelves and I had nowhere to put my books (I think I had around 1000-1500 books at this point - a lot of them are my mom's and my grandma's). So I stopped buying books for a while. Now I'm buying them again (and planning to get a new set of bookshelves as soon as I can), but I'm trying hard to buy only things I'm super interested in or something I already read and want to own (nowadays I read quite a bit on kindle/laptop or listen to audiobooks). Well, I digressed lol

But I do agree about the trending stuff. I think because most of it are YA and romance. I used to read tons of YAs before but I think I've already outgrew that phase. What kind of genre are you into lately? Lately, I've been reading tons of classic books and japanese literature. I'm really, really into Dostoevsky (have you read any of his books?), and I'm also checking out works from Akutagawa, Dazai, and Soseki. In between reading these deep and heavy classics, I read slice of life japanese lit that are comfy and heartwarming. That's how I balance it out
