Hello from the Integratron!

I'll post some photos too, but wanted to share this video first. This was taken directly after the sound bath.

You enter the dome through a downstairs level that looks more like a museum. You'll see the pictures when I post those in just a sec.

There we were greeted by two cousins, a man and a woman, who explained the history of the building and the story of how their family came to own it.

It's a winding tale starting in the 1950s including reports of space time travelers and extra-terrestrial blue prints that all seemed to be propelled by a vision for the future of Earth's humans that would include healing and longer life.

The cousins were standing on either side of some very steep wooden stairs. They pointed out it's pretty much like a ladder, it's so steep. They gave us a full safety brief on how to climb the stairs one step at a time, while holding both guard rails, and only one person at a time is allowed on the stairs.

It was a patient process to get everyone up which was really nice actually, like time slowed down a bit.

All the many wooden planks are held together only by small wooden dowels! No nails or metal is used as it would change the resonance.

They told us two things about the acoustics in the room. One made sense to me, but the other I found totally surprising and magical.

You can clearly hear the faintest whisper from the far side of the room. That's the part that seemed a little familiar to me, but there was another feature of the acoustics that was completely unique and surprising to me.

The other acoustical wonder is something they invited each of us to test for ourselves by standing one at a time in the very center of the room on the wooden square. You'll see the spot at the end of the video!

The cousin said, "Don't miss the chance to stand there on that wooden square and speak out into the room what it is that you're most grateful for right now. What you hear back will be worth the long drive out here!"

It was a long drive, did I mention that? We drove another hour and 45 minutes from where we were staying in the desert just to get to Integratron.

They walked us through turning our phones completely off, and I was a little unsettled that it took me a second. I couldn't remember the last time I fully powered off my phone! Now you have to hold TWO buttons down for what seems like forever  before it'll bring up the option to power off.

Once we were upstairs it took me a little while to work up the courage to join the line to speak in middle.

Each person whispered inaudibly, and I thought it was because they were feeling shy, as I was as well, but I soon learned that is not why.

Once I was there in the middle I took a big breath (as practiced in my singing course!) determined to project at least a normal volume what I am grateful for.

But immediately such an immensely loud resonant tone of my own voice came echoing back from the room filling up my ears that I naturally adjusted the volume softer. By the end of my statement I could feel that I was speaking ever so softly but the voice I heard back was still super loud!

I was sure my friend Cindy could have heard what I was grateful for but she said she couldn't hear a thing!

They say it's because in the very middle of the dome, sound travels only up and down.

I really liked the sound bath. It's supremely relaxing, like a nap on steroids.

Very inspiring, the power of sound in all its many forms.

Hope you have a great weekend!
Jenny
