Happy Friday!
Well, friends, you win some you lose some.
I need to try a couple new things to tweak the pumpkin pie recipe before Christmas. It wasn’t as good as the ones my Mom would make when I was a kid.
The stuffing made with freshly baked sourdough bread, however, was…
10/10!! 🤤
Did I tell you that we are re-mixing one track for the new mastered album? I listened to all the versions of Last of the Mohicans that I’ve ever recorded, and wanted something a little different.
So Ron helped me go back into the original multitrack recording sessions and we made a whole new arrangement that I’m excited to share with you!
I thought that would be that, but then Ron remembered that these mixes were run through an old analogue mixing board that he doesn’t have anymore!
So, even though the settings appear the same in the session files, the mix sounds more different than we expected.
Believe it or not, we would spend up to three days recording a single song and then an entire day or more just mixing it. Every instrument needs to have its levels set so that it sounds its best. And then when you put them all together changes need to be made again. Sometimes one little change causes a domino effect of changes to everything else until finally it clicks and everything sticks together in perfect harmony and distinction.
So, that’s where we are at right now. No turning back. Cant wait to send you a download of this never before released version the minute it’s finished!
Wish me luck!
Jenny 💗
