Growth Lab 36 Overload, a few updated art pages and reuploaded for YOU!

You know, one of the great things I appreciate about YOUR support is the ability to go back to older work to see what was working and pull that thinking into present day animations and comics.

These pages were done off and on over the last couple years and I don't think they were properly put back into PDF comic - now they are!

I do a lot of drawing and there are plenty of 'rough patches' across the comics. I've been working to pull the quality up in the last few years but some of the old pages are still charming in their own way. I also know there are many fans of mine out there who really enjoy the older comics and art. THANK YOU FOR THAT! I do love those older pages too. In fact, I sometimes ask myself "Hey, was I BETTER back then?" hahahaha Maybe some would say yes and I might agree on a few of the pages.

Some notes on the redraws - I gotta say - the old ones hold up REALLY well and for me it was mostly keeping the old vibe and adding color. I did redraw the figures to add in minor details but a lot remained on model with the 2019 version. This was basically an exercise with my old trusty G-Pen in Clip Studio.

So Overload was originally drawn in September of 2019. This was with my old Wacom Intuos and Clip Studio. I was still farting around with what pens I like best in Clip and at the time it was the standard G-Pen. All of Overload was originally done in that pen. Vigilant comic fans probably noticed a style change in 2020 a few months later. That was when I got a new tablet, the Huion 610 for $40 on sale at Amazon. Now your old pal Ready paid well over fifteen times that when I got my Intous in 2004 and I didn't feel like doing it again. I was ready to retire my old tablet after nearly 16 years of hard work. The Huion was not only a much better bargain but for me a MUCH better tablet. To be clear - I draw on a tablet and look at my screen when I draw. I do not have a 'screen' tablet, I don't like 'em partially because I like having my hand out of the way when I draw. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

At any rate - with a new tablet and new drawing pens - voilà, I'm off to the races with my current style. Of course, looking back at those pages there was a lot of really fun stuff happening I'm re-exploring.

I hope you enjoy the redraws as well. There is currently no plan to go back and redo full comics like Overload but I'm always open to hearing what YOU would like.
