At the very beginning, when everyone was gathering around, that would have been more realistic than you think back in the 80's. Your TV might only get a few channels on the antenna, nobody waiting around near their phones and letters were still a way to reach out long distances to save on paying for a long distance call. ;) When you live in a small group of only a few dozen people, and you have something like this happen, it's probably the most exciting thing that's happened in months...

2021-07-20 12:02:06 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite childhood movies! I went to the theater to see this. Lots of cheese, cheese is good :) I don't want a reboot but I would love a sequel to this movie, I think they are trying to get one made. I don't know a lot about the history of the movie though
