Could we get this reloaded?

Joseph's people didn't become slaves until after he was dead. So no, he didn't know that would happen. It was a different Pharoah that made them slaves. He couldn't have known it would happen in the FUTURE.

Well the history behind this story ties in with the Prince of Egypt. This is the story of how the Israelites actually came to Egypt in the first place. Joseph was second to the Pharaoh and saved Egypt and because they had so much food to spare they shared/sold it to surrounding countries and one of them was where Joseph was from. This was how Egypt became so wealthy and powerful. They gained not just wealth but prestige and fame throughout the world as they knew it. As generations passed however the Egyptian grew fearful that the growing population of the immigrant Israelites , who had been there, like I said for generations, would take over. Early xenephobia. The Egyptians slowly enslaved the Israelites and that's how the situation came about when the story of Moses began. It should also be said that the massive amount of slaves was also a big factor to Egypt's greatness. After Moses left with his people the economy of Egypt collapsed and the once great nation sagged into near ruin.
