The head guard that dosen't shoot him at the end tells him he knows he had nothing to do with caretakers murder and will back him up. What Nelly tells the big guy about what Stone Cold said was the slurs he used in the library scene. And when Sandler ask Reynolds what's next as they walk off the field at the end. Burt tells him " We find out where they are keeping Unger" implying that the same big guy that took out Stone Cold will get back at Unger for what he did to Caretaker.
