It's definitely not the worst live action remake, though I do prefer the 1973 version. It shows a little more of the girl spending time with Wilbur in the beginning and has a much sadder farewell between them when she has to give him away. Makes me cry every time, so I have to grab and cuddle one of my cats for comfort. I never want to have to say goodbye to them like that.

The 1973 musical version is a vibe and very nostalgic for me - I'll probably remember the songs forever! Another great movie I think you'll love is Akeelah And The Bee. I hope you're not sick of the suggestion yet ๐ but it's an underdog/father-daughter story I'm certain is right up your alley!
