Gamer System in Campione - Chapter 20

Ozymandias knew that the title of Duke of Goddodin was not just for showing off. King Sun realized that he was wise and intelligent beyond what he knew. He slowly led the conversation, discovering the reason beyond Ozymandias' calls.

He was trying to invite Ozymandias to Witenagemot, knowing that if he sought the Grail, he would have an organization that would support him back with information and strength.

And he knew that Ozymandias didn't have time to create an organization for him.

And to do that, Witenagemot was the best choice available.

It was a mutual aid relationship, Witenagemot would gain a Campione who would protect them from any threat and in return they located the Holy Grail for him.

Even though he knew he was being manipulated, Ozymandias just chuckled with amusement.

"You have a devious mind Duke Goddodin," said Ozymandias laughing.

Goddodin, in turn, looked at Ozymandias with a smirk.

"I didn't inherit my title of duke because I was the fifth child in my family, you know? I didn't inherit a single pound from my parents."

Ozymandias shook his head, suppressing a small bubble of amusement that stirred in his stomach.

"I understand, but don't try to manipulate me so subtly in the future. I don't like someone controlling me behind my back," Ozymandias said seriously.

Goddodin raised his hands apologetic and replied, "That I will not go, Majesty. I know my limits. I apologize for my disrespectful game."

As the conversation ended, Ozymandias was silent until Goddodin spoke again.

"Majesty, would I like to ask a question?"

Seventh Campione's eyes immediately went to the man, and King Sun noticed the serious expression Alice's father wore.

"Which?"

"Did you come to England for the sole purpose of finding information about the Holy Grail? Or was it to fight Sir Gawain?" asked the man seriously.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Ozymandias calmly.

"Reports say that you have an [Authority] capable of feeling the manifestation of a [Heretic God] so it would be obvious that you would feel Sir Gawain manifesting. In addition to the vision Alice had of you," explained Goddodin seriously.

To think that the Demon King had come to England only to hunt a God showed that he was not much different from other Campiones like Marquis Voban, although Goddodin was grateful for that because the damage caused by the Heretic God had been minimal.

Ozymandias' eyes narrowed at the speech of the man beside him.

"Alice's vision? She had just told me about seeing me fighting two Heretic Gods in Italy," Ozymandias said as he suspected the man.

Goddodin looked slightly surprised before sighing.

"She saw it, but due to her strong hime-miko skills she saw a lot more," said Goddodin.

The man sighed as he began to tell King Sun about the moment.

*Flashback.*

A few days ago, before Ozymandias arrived in England, in Alice's room it was possible to see her and her father, each sitting next to each other, in fact Alice was lying in her bed.

Alice and Goddodin keep to the mundane things in life, but that soon ended when Goddodin saw his daughter's joyful gaze turn into a blank stare and her magical power increased.

As if what she was seeing was something far beyond what was happening.

And this Goddodin recognized, as it was one of his daughter's abilities.

Her [Spiritual Vision] was being activated.

[Spiritual Vision] was a kind of clairvoyance that Hime-Miko can use. This ability allows its user to access Memories of the Void, the collective knowledge of the world. Basically, it allows Alice to see the past and maybe a little bit of the future.

"He is the King who killed a multitude of Gods. He is the King whose identity is unknown. He who killed the Sun of Egypt will come to the land of the Knights to once again defeat the Sun" after the words come out of Alice's mouth the girl fainted while her father screamed in despair for her.

Alice's Point of View at that moment.

At first it was dark.

No light could be seen, not even a glimpse.

* Clang! * * Clang! *

The faint sound of banging metal can be heard.

Then, slowly, it got louder, clearer.

Faded figures could be seen appearing in front of me.

A handsome Egyptian man who looked no younger than me with wounds covering his body, swinging a golden scepter with incredible speed and ferocity.

Standing in front of the young man was another man wielding a sword. Like the young man, he was covered in wounds. In his hands was a beautiful sword that instantly attracted my attention.

"Futsu-no-mitama..!" I muttered in shock.

Futsu-no-mitama, the famous sword of the God of Thunder and Swords, Takemikazuchi.

Then the image changed once more.

The young man had grown older, taller, more muscular. He held the same scepter, swinging it unlike before, with unbelievable precision and beauty.

His opponent had changed, he was a truly colossal being, with his height surpassing mountains, his skin was pure red, like flames taking shape, a fiery giant who swung his sword at the youth as he threatened to burn all creation.

On the ground she could see other dead beings, their bodies lying on the ground after the battle.

The first was an old man, he had a large white beard and gray hair, he did not have one of his eyes that was covered by an eye patch while in his hand was a large blood red spear with three points and runes inscribed.

The second was a handsome, muscular man with blond hair and blue eyes, and lightning encircled his body as his hammer fell to the ground.

Beside them was another being, a mischievous smile present on her face even as her life faded as he cursed the boy fighting the fire giant.

Beside them two monstrous beings were almost dead, one of them was a huge wolf that seemed to want to devour everything even as it died while the other was a huge snake.

While she could only see flashes of battle and the image began to change several times.

With each new image, the young man aged slowly and his opponents constantly changed. Most were human, with a few giants and beasts.

A single image of the battles between him and those beings surfaced for me to imprint on my memory, a single image of the beings the boy faced.

A tall, falcon-headed man who held a scepter identical to the boy's and seemed to command the Sun.

A man wearing traditional clothing from ancient China while having red hair and a third eye on his forehead and red tattoos on his face.

A man who flew in a huge thunderstorm, possessing black hair and blue eyes, he was sitting on a white elephant while holding a Vajra in his hands.

A man who possessed four arms while having a blue skin and a fearsome cobra was wrapped around his neck while a Trishula was in his hands.

A tall red-skinned man with six arms as flames danced around him and dozens of snakes curled around him and a large Bow in his hand.
