"This card always comes with a disclaimer: itโs not an omen of literal death. Death is about letting go -- of ego, patterns, relationships, illusions. Itโs the sacred compost phase. Donโt resist the decay. Whatโs dying is making space for whatโs next."
"Temperance is the art of balance -- not just between extremes, but within your own contradictions. This card is a reminder that you donโt have to rush or control the outcome. Integrate. Be patient. Sip, donโt chug."
Shuye as Temperance is one of those sort of "good enough" pairings. Partly because Shuye is relatively new to the series, so there's not as much to draw from for her, and Temperance is kind of a difficult concept to visualize easily. She's also in a Tai Chi pose at the client's request, since in the original art the angel is just kinda... standing there.
Helen as Death, however, is extremely appropriate. In the original art there was a dead body on the ground that death is stepping over, which gave us the perfect place to put Helen's former self. But to keep it from being too gruesome we rendered her former self as a ghost instead of as a corpse.
