Canvas, Metamorphs, Porcupine Fish!

This painting until today had been sitting unfinished on the easel for a while... like MONTHS!
It originally started as a series of round rocks/asteroids floating in space.
It stayed that way for several weeks, dormant. I didn't know how to finish it. Whether to add stars in the background or comets flying around.
Then about a week ago, I painted some radial spikes on each of them but then they all looked like covid molecules.
So I added the eyes, mouths and fins and voilà! Porcupine Puffer fish! LOL.
I think they each have a their own unique confused and/or startled expression.
Spring in Montreal is a special time, even though there's still snow everywhere today, you can tell the the light of Spring is starting to energize things in the city.
Anyhow, took a little break but heading back to the recording studio now!
