[Exclusive] Worm Flexi and apple container
Added 2024-06-12 17:49:36 +0000 UTC
Hiii!! Happy Wednesday!
worms worms worms worms worms and apples!
This release includes:
π Worm Flexi
π Worm Flexi 3MF
π Worm Flexi split up body/eyes
π Apple Container
π Apple Container 3MF
π Apple Container split up leaf/stem
This is a silly little dude! for the googly eyes on I had scaled him up to 120% to fit the eyes, unfortunately the package did not have measurements so it was guess work. I then hand painted on the different colors which was quick and easy!
If you are using Bambu slicer or prusa slicer I recommend changing your "wall generator" setting to Arachne when printing the apple, this helps the container print smoother with even number of walls. If you are finding that the top is hard to come on and off, do it several times over as well as twisting it around to loosen it up! you can also use sand paper to slim down the indents on the lid.
100% worm will fit inside an 100% apple (not through the hole, for worm to fit through the hole scale worm down to 70%) The worm was tested from 120% to 60%
I have included a 3MF guide on how to edit the worms 3MF.
I strongly discourage children under 3 from handling the printed models without supervision, as small parts can pose a choking hazard.
between you and me, printing a handful and then shaking the wits out of them is a really great destressor ππ€

yep! If you are losing adhesion a brim is always the next thing to try, I would start with cleaning your plate really well with soap and warm water, making sure you are not touching your plate with your fingers anytime afterwards, and using a brim both inner and outer for the apples should help with adhesion!

so when i tried printing the apple container the tops were getting spaghetti and moved around the plate. do i need to use brim or what? the bottoms were good cause they had the bottom layer.

Can we get apples without the worm hole? Just normal apple containers please or does anyone know a work around to make it a solid apple container?

A 130 Apple will also fit a 105 worm...its the perfect ratio. 110 would be too big for the 130 though. I love the 130 size apple i haven't tried another size for them (yet) but i have experimented with different size worms lol I've done 100, 105, and 120 so far. Also 120 will also NOT fit into the 130 size apple as in the hole although it does nicely fit in the container itself. I've decided to make one for my sons homeroom teacher when he returns to school in August. I hope she loves it!

LOVE that you are making containers for items cuz everyone seems to want them these days, HUGE Hit each time you release something that's part of a "package"!

So I had an idea. Maybe a cute chubby book (with a derpy smile) with a "bookworm" (has glasses and buck teeth and wears a cardigan

120% worms fit 9 mm googly eyes, just an fyi. I bought a multi size pack of googly eyes and love the option to use googly eyes so much!

Perfect haha, i would do inner and outer brim
Christine
2024-06-17 16:48:55 +0000 UTC
Just the top, I think the bottom has been fine. I haven't been using a brim - but I will try that. If it fails again, I'll be at them all with sticks if they get close to the printer, and I will get pictures. Thank you!
Amanda Strupp
2024-06-17 16:46:14 +0000 UTC
Hii!! which parts of the apples are failing? top or bottom? or both? are you using a brim? if you have pictures of the fails you can post them on discord, or email them to me thesprouted@gmail.com
Christine

I will preface this with the fact that I'm certain that it is user error because I'm a newbie - I've tried to print the apples twice and they've failed both times - are there certain settings that work best or something I should make sure to do? Bed adhesion might be my problem, but unfortunately someone else has taken the print off the printer both times before I could see what the issue was π

2024-06-17 16:41:32 +0000 UTC
yea, either print the eyes separately or we can make use our own eyes like googly eyes etc, love the idea of more split up versions x
KaydeeKrafts
2024-06-15 21:02:22 +0000 UTC
oh I see like print the eyes separately, I am definitely making effort on including a split up version for the designs going forward, however sometimes it wonβt be possible depending on how the eye sits in the head.
Christine
2024-06-15 20:54:14 +0000 UTC
Sorry for the confusion, I mean leave the eyes out of the design like you have with the worm and some other of your designs x
KaydeeKrafts
2024-06-15 20:51:29 +0000 UTC
Hii!! sorry iβm not sure what you mean by indentations
Christine
2024-06-15 20:38:15 +0000 UTC
Hi, can you please make all your designs with eye indentations so that we can add our own eyes, I hope that makes sense? x

I printed multiple apples and worms and here are my results for those who are wanting the worm to fit in the apple hole - These sizes fit perfectly
90% Apple 70% Worm
100% Apple 75% Worm
110% Apple 85% Worm
120% Apple 95% Worm (little tight but still fits or you can drop the worm to 90%)
130% Apple 100% Worm
140% Apple 110% Worm

There will be a small gap between the two apple sections but they should close together securely, I would have to see a picture of your apples in order to try to troubleshoot, you can email them to me at thesprouted@gmail.com, or instagram works as well!

I made 2 apples tonight. They don't close fully. I am not sure if it's just me? Are supports a must for these? I reduced the size of the caterpillars and they fit the hole perfectly. I eyeballed it, but I can look at the size I have them at tomorrow if anyone needs it still.

No worries! I should have been more clear in the post!
Christine
2024-06-14 00:45:20 +0000 UTC
Yes I meant in the hole. Sorry I read that and assumed they were scaled to fit the hole as well. My mistake π€¦π»ββοΈ I will scale them down to 70% :) Thanks so much!
Dreamweaver
2024-06-14 00:42:21 +0000 UTC
hii!! They donβt fit in the apple or in the hole? what is meant in the post by fit is inside the apple, not in the hole. For the worm to fit in the hole it should be scaled down to 70%
Christine
2024-06-14 00:34:28 +0000 UTC
Hi, I just printed a bunch of apples at 100% and worms at 100% and they definitely don't fit as stated above. Could you correct that with what size worm will actually fit inside the 100% apple. Thanks so much!
Dreamweaver
2024-06-14 00:33:21 +0000 UTC
Any chance of getting the apple without the hole too? This would be super cute for a teachers desk!

2024-06-13 16:33:32 +0000 UTC
yes, the hole would have to be very large to fit the worm, 70% worm will fit in the hole π₯°
Christine
2024-06-13 15:34:42 +0000 UTC
Ahh, I guess the model is based on the worm fitting inside the container? Would have been pretty cool if the hole was made bigger to fit the worm
Michelle Ord
2024-06-13 15:33:34 +0000 UTC
hii!! take a look at the picture from above of the worm sitting in the apple, try curling the worm so the head overlaps the tail a bit and then closing the top when itβs in that position
Christine
2024-06-13 15:29:46 +0000 UTC
I printed 100% split apple and 100% worm and the worm doesnt fit
Michelle Ord
2024-06-13 15:01:00 +0000 UTC
Very cute. I found worm at 100% does not fit into hole to poke his head out of apple 100% Im going to make worm at 75%
S M
2024-06-13 11:01:42 +0000 UTC
oh haha yeah, hmm iβm not too sure how big of an apple you would need, guessing maybe 130%
Christine
2024-06-13 03:23:34 +0000 UTC
That's scaling down the worm, right? I was wondering how big the apple needed to be so a 100% worm would fit...I printed both at 100% thinking the worm fit at that size, not realizing the worm was too chubby π
Mike Sprague
2024-06-13 03:18:31 +0000 UTC
The one in the pictures is 60% but 70% should fit also π₯°
Christine
2024-06-13 03:16:59 +0000 UTC
What size does the apple need to be so the worm can fit thru the hole up top?
