[Exclusive] Ducky Clicker

Hii!!

As I work on the next design I have a fun little clicker drop for you! Sorry for the long post in advance! I am a little nervous releasing clicker designs as they require hardware to function. I did spend sometime trying to figure out a 3d printed clicker but nothing compares to the actual switches and the clicky noise they make.

I tested out about 5 different clicker brands that I ordered from amazon. ca which I believe are also available on amazon. com. All of them fit perfectly! If you have not yet looked into getting the switch that is required to make clicker designs I highly recommend it! Having did a bit of research they are getting really good feed back in the market, and they make great quick gifts! I will list the exact switches I used near the bottom of the post.

The ducky clicker should not be scaled as it is made to fit the switches. It prints in a few parts and I created a quick youtube short on how to assemble it below -

Youtube short

Important:

✨ I recommend clipping off the metal prongs at the bottom of your switch as seen in the clip above. They are sharp and unless the switch is glued into place it could potentially come out of its housing. Please be careful when clipping and clip with the pins facing away from your face and downwards. Clipping isn't necessary for the clicker to work, you can keep the clicker as is and it can function as a holder for a spare switch for your keyboard.

✨ The cap will require a bit of force to fully seat it into the switch. Please make sure you place the switch into its housing first before attempting to insert the ducky onto the switch, it is much easier this way.

✨ Make sure when you are pushing the ducky into the switch that you are keeping it straight in order to avoid breaking the cap by bending it.

✨ Make sure you are checking your z seam placement in your slicer!! The z seam should be placed to the back of the ducky or else it will put the seam right over top of the eye!

Also Make sure that when you are editing the 3MFs that you are NOT painting the eyes with the paint tool. They are split to parts and painting them will create uneven paint lines. Instead please assign color to them from object list located in the left side panel.

This is the exact switches I got from the Canadian amazon (I'm in canada), these switches are the loudest of all of the switches I tried - Kailh Switches
you should be able to find the same ones in your amazon stores as well! other brands shouldn't have any issues fitting into this clicker unless they are a specialized switch that has a different fitting. If you want them to be loud make sure the switch is labeled "clickly" (the links above are not affiliated)

Shout out to Jazzy who allowed me to remix her clicker! You can find the original clicker below with personal use and one time commercial license option as well -

Jazzy clickers

As with all of my designs, I strongly advise that the printed models are not to be handled by children under 3 without proper supervision

If they are hard to insert try to scale the cap and the ducky up by 2% and they should be easier to insert! I was actually thinking of going back to glue in cap because some are having a hard time with the combined version 😅

Christine

are you planning on updating these clickers just as the other animal ones? They break very easily and are pretty hard to assemble (not every pla prints te same) but the new ones are excellemt

Muffina

Hii!! scale the cap and the ducky up by 2%, you can also lower your flow rate if you are overextending which will also cause tolerance issues

Christine

Hi! The stem for where switch inserts into the body of the clicker is super hard to get the switch into. I had to spend several minutes carving out bits of plastic until it finally fit and even then I had to force it on with my entire weight to get it to even get on a little bit. Am I doing something wrong with printing this?

Ghoti

Was wondering if you are going to update these clickers as well and the hay? The new ones are so much better now that everything works and I don't have glue a bunch of pieces> :-) would be amazing. Thank you, I love all your files. :-)

Manda Diehl

Thank you for the information!! 🥰🥰

Christine

FIY: the switches for clickers are really easy to find. I've tested outemu from temu, the DrinKey from Temu too, the kailh box from Amazon.ca/.com and from AliExpress and they pretty much working the same. Outemu and DrinKey are less "loud" on clicking sound and smoother, but they are a lot cheaper too. I have bought, as for now, more then 500 switches from around 6 different brands/type/color and tested all. They are all good. My personal pref are the Kailh box black cause they need a more intense pressure and having a louder click sound that I love so much. Just don't stress with the switches, you have a lot of choices out there. So go print these tiny ducky clickers and makes them click 💛 Thank you so much for adding clickers designs I love your work and they are soooo cute 🤩

Audrey Roseberry

Loveeee this - we need more clickers!!! I have been waiting for a Canadian to do these! I need to scale my ducky down but everything is great so far!

Dream Forge 3D

hii!! Make sure you are pressing the ducky into the clicker all the way! you can also add a tiny bit of glue to the cap to make them stay in place better. Generally I would say that this type of model should be used gently and with a bit more care then any of my other models

Christine

hello! is there a way to make the connection between the ducky s and the clicker stronger? i printed them for my boys bday but a few of them broke pretty easily

Muffina

not sure why but the duck has orange layer all the way around a few layers I into beak

Fuzzycollector

Anytime!!

Christine

Hii!! yep! I’ve added sculpt duckies and keychain version as well!

Christine

I just re-read your comment and now I get it! Thank you 🥰😅

Leah

hi! can i use these duckies without the clicker? they are adorable!

C Verdon

The part you insert into the ducky!

Leah

hii!! sorry im not sure if I understand, the cap which is inserted into the ducky is 3d printed and is included in the zip 🥰

Christine

Hi!! Where do I get the keycaps? Any recommendations? I found the switches I just need caps 😅

Leah

yaay! 🥰🥰

Christine

I zoomed in I see now thank you I just wanted to make sure mine were right. I love them!!

JeffBecky

Hii!! You may need to scale the tub and water down 2% so the switch fits more tightly in the water! you can send me a picture on instagram, facebook, or discord if you joined it to help troubleshoot 🥰

Christine

Hii it just means your tolerance is bigger than mine, this will happen with different filaments and printers. Scale the ducky down 1-2% depending on how loose the cap is 🥰

Christine

Is the cap supposed to fit tight in the duck? Mine falls out easily

Josh Hendershott

The clickers keep coming out of "the water" :( i tried hot glue and 10 seconds glue but nothing helps. How do i make sure the clickers stay in tne water?

Muffina

Flushing/Prime volume on my Bambu automatically sets itself at 45mm. I upped mine to 50, and it solved the black line issue when doing eyes. I used to have this issue alot. Good luck!

Paradoxal_Dinosaur

Hii!! you can reference the pictures above in the post, the ducky is “floating” on the water, and you can see the top part of the switch 🥰

Christine

Should you be able to see the clicker switch at all?

JeffBecky

Looks your you’re tolerance runs higher than mine! in the future if you wish the caps to snap in instead of gluing them scale down the object that they fit into by 1% 🥰

Christine

I had the same issue, I did with the hay bails as well. I ended up gluing all mine.

Manda Diehl

yaay!!!

Christine

These are the cutest thing ever! I made a bunch of them and brought them to game night and everyone snatched them up right away!

Chrissie Stern

Thank you! I made sure the flush into infill wasn’t clicked…I will look into flushing volume!

Cailzara

You likely have it set to purge to infill under your "others" tab, or your flushing volume isn't high enough.

Marti Reusch

These are very adorable! But I am hoping someone can help me. I'm new to 3D printing and not sure what I'm doing wrong but I am getting black lines around the ducky's head. Is there something I can do to prevent this? Thanks!

Cailzara

I said it on Threads earlier...buuut any chance of a chicken one day? <3

Radio Chicken

its up! redownload it from the download post! 🥰

Christine

its up! redownload it from the download post! 🥰

Christine

Its up! redownload from the download post! 🥰

Christine

Hii!! I get mine from amazon! I've included the link to the exact ones in the post!

Christine

Where can I get the individual key clickers to make these?

Rachel's Crafty Corner

no as long as you keep it tidy to the sides of the clicker 🥰

Christine

I had a similar issue with mine. I’m going to glue mine. Correct me if I’m wrong, gluing the clicker down won’t present any issues, right?

Andreea Sencion

Not at the moment, they are meant to be more of a desk pet than pocket clicker

Christine

yaaay!!

Christine

I loveee these ❤️but is there a smaller version ?

BeBu3D

Love these.

Laura Shipton

I printed one for my 10 yr old before he got home last night and he was over the moon excited about these!!

Kathleen Lewis

Pleeeeeeeeeeease ducky keychain 🙏🏻🥺

Marta Domagalska

haha no worries! and I know right 😅😆

Christine

Oh, duh, I just realized the glue label is totally visible and legible, sorry about that. I only backed up to the part where you applied it and thought it seemed like a lot for CA glue. 😆

Paul G

Make sure to test the tolerance first by printing one single color ducky with the new scale 🥰

Christine

Oh awesome! Thank you! I'll do that with my next duck colours! <3

Radio Chicken

It’s gorilla glue. I just realized it’s fabric glue tho so don’t use that one haha! I love the general gorilla super glue and been using it a long time, I must have grabbed the wrong tube for this one.

Christine

hii!! Yeah this will happen with different printers, filaments, the tolerances will be different. Don’t scale the cap though! scale the ducky down 1-2% instead

Christine

Printing! My ducks and water are done, just waiting for the tub to print :) the cap that goes into the ducky is quite loose though, it'll require gluing for me, based on your videos they look like they just fit in there, but mine printed a bit loose - I didn't change any settings, but I might need to up the cap .2-.5%....or just glue :P

Radio Chicken

What glue are you using in your short?

Paul G

Yay! Just before I saw this my sister was asking me to print 50 ducks for her next cruise! I am excited to print these!

Kendra Kent

No worries at all!!

Christine

Oh my gosh, I’m blind. So sorry!

Kristen

It’s in the post 🥰

Christine

Do you have an Amazon link to what you use?

Kristen

awww yaay!!! Thank You! I appreciate that 💖💖

Christine

These are adorable and I love the water detail! I'm sure these will be popular especially with spring and Easter around the corner. Thankyou for ALWAYS thinking outside of the box and bringing us new designs we haven't seen other places 🥰 BRING ON THE CLICKERS! 🤩

Lisa

Thank you!!!!

Leah Ditch

I will be updating the zip to include a ducky sculpt

Christine

hahahaha

Christine

Are the ducks also non clickers?

Leah Ditch

We’ve been pranking my boss for two years by hiding ducks everywhere. He has a mechanical keyboard…he’s getting a new enter key 😈

Angel.S

Perfect for the Jeep market.

MoXYZ Mfg

Awww. Adorable.

carrie roehrig

Sounds good!

Christine

I will check again on my computer when I get home later. I'll let you know if I still don't see it! Thank you

Megan Coohill

No worries! They will be under February released just below those. If you’re still not seeing it, try logging out and then back in!

Christine

For me the last thing is the January teddy bears. I ended my membership end of January (temporarily due to financial reasons), but I can not resist the ducks so I just resubscribed under the hobbyist since I never started selling anything I've printed (not there yet 😅)

Megan Coohill

They are at the very bottom!

Christine

Oh my goodness. Precious!

Kendra

I'm not seeing these in the current download page

Megan Coohill

Yes!!! Seeing these guys hitting some Easter baskets here.

Kristin Coker

yaay!!!

Christine

I’m so excited I love Clickies

GlitteRue

And the first batch of duckies have started printing!!

Christine

Yaay!!

Christine

Christine

Can it be printed as just the ducky as well? They're so cute!

Kuu Wolf

I never knew I needed to print a clicker so fast. Love how adorable this guy is and can’t wait to bring to my event tomorrow

IcySky121

A clicker!! I have an empty printer and this is going on now ❤️😳

LauraCampy

Oh my god I love ducks

Nicole

I'm so excited to try these out! I just ordered my first clickers from Amazon.

Chrissie Stern
