September 2024 Production Update

I spent the first half of August finishing the Pizza Tower Jake Pit video. It’s up and available to Patrons and Channel Members to watch now and will probably go public in November this year. I spent the second half of August writing scripts for potential episodes of a new series of stand-alone Redstone Ned videos that I’m going to call “The Redstone Ned Zone”. So far, I’ve made 3 of them.

One of them could potentially become outdated before November by something Mojang might do later this year, so to avoid having to throw out a whole bunch of obsolete work later, I’m going to hold off on that video until I see what Mojang does with Minecraft Live this year. Another one is longer than the others and seems like it’s going to require a lot of time to animate certain parts, and I don’t want to devote a whole lot of my limited time to a video that’s part of a series that I haven’t even gotten a chance to see how people will react to yet.

The third script is probably the one I’m going to actually start production on first, since it’s not about something that’s likely to change in the next few months and it isn’t too ambitious, either. Currently, it’s in the first draft phase. In fact, as I write this, I just finished the first draft last night. So the next thing I’m going to do is go through it a few more times, smooth it out, and punch it up a bit more before I record the voice work. After the voice work’s done, it’ll be time to produce the video. I’m going to try to get it done before October.

My overall plan right now is to have 3 or 4 non-50 Ways videos ready to show the public by late November. Then, I’ll base my plans on what to make next for June 2025 on how people respond to those November videos.
