When I was a kid, we had cottage cheese for dinner every once in a while and I neither liked it or hated it. It was a 5/10 food. Then, for some reason, we stopped eating it and I didn't try it again until 20 years later when I heard it was high in protein and decided to try it again. And when I did, it almost made me puke. So I'd say it's an acquired taste that I must have lost at some point.
