2024-07-08 03:18:09 +0000 UTCThere is no reason why a college educated left (as opposed to the college educated Right, who are those "merchants" never mentioned when Brahmins are invoked, but who are ACTUALLY in power) cannot ally with the working class, decimated over the last 14 years. As much of it was the 20 odd years before than. The radicalism of the Two Georges has an anti-Left structural antipathy that will always present this as care/ public sector service workers befuddled by the PMC ("folk memory" - really?). As for the characterisation of public sector union leaders - this is basically a right wing trope going way back.
