Extra Philosophy memes

I found some cut philosophy memes in the old video archive, so I thought I would share. There should be a new philosophy memes video going out next week as well, so it's all very meme-heavy at the moment.

I know I'm new here, but I love when you include your own thoughts in your videos/posts alongside whoever/whatever you're talking about! You've struck a very good balance between the two, and it makes your content more engaging to me.

Hi Joe, I’m 19 years old and just recently developed an interest in philosophy and subscribed to your channel, but I get lost in so many new words when I start reading, especially because my first language is Spanish (I can read in English but my vocabulary is shorter). Anyway, your videos have been very, very helpful to understand so many concepts, thank you for that. Also, lately I’ve been sick, only for 10 days, and I think today’s the last day. I’ve been thinking about how normal health had seemed to me before, and I have a question. I think that in one of your videos you said you have chronic pain which you probably never said but i think i kinda of remember and just wanted to know how that’s been for you, do you notice when you’re not feeling it as much? Does it ever seriously get in the way? During these days I’ve been interested in the testimonies of people who have gone through great suffering and fear and the different reactions to these experiences, since you seem knowledgeable and fit, you probably resist it from getting in your way, that’s part of the reason I’m asking you. Right now I’m reading The Plague and when I’m done I’m probably going to read The Gulag Archipelago unless you have a better recommendation on the subject. If you’ve answered these questions in the past, just let me know where, but if you haven’t and don’t want to, just know that I don’t mind.

... and of course myself. I'm always laughing at myself.

Bacchanalia 🤦‍♀️ I'd like to make a small request but I can pretty much see you ignore them and do what you want, but uhm... can you please prioritize your Notes From Underground video? I'm re-reading it right now in anticipation and I'm finding it even more hilarious than ever given my life experience and the state of the world. I can definitely see why it's remained a favorite of mine. I don't know what that says about me. I once dated a musician for about a year and he was a brute (read: tortured artist) who liked to pick random fights with other men in bars when he was drunk and sleep with groupies. When he inevitably broke up with me for one of them he had the audacity to ask me for a book to read, probably to impress her. I thought this was a perfect ;). He let me know he hated it and I found that part even funnier. Probably just made him hate himself, but I mean, who asks a woman whose heart he's breaking for a book to impress the next one? A guy who needs to read this book.

I have to read Critique of Pure Reason next month or so; some secondary source recommendations would be welcome

Hmm, the last topic is really interesting because I remember seeing some comments under your videos saying that you never talk about your own philosophy—and I actually found myself disagreeing with that. I think you do let some level of your own thoughts seep through in most of your videos, especially toward the conclusion sections. Even though they’re not some bold, groundbreaking statements, I feel like they still reflect your intuition and perspective very well; and I often find them quite insightful and impactful (and in my opinion, they have a lot of potential to be expanded much further), which is a big part of why I enjoy your philosophy videos so much!

Excellent video, thanks so much! What I think would be interesting would be to take a philosophical topic (like free will) and compare and contrast different takes on it. For me, the purpose of doing philosophy is to develop a worldview that yes, as you spoke to, charges over time as one learns, thinks. discusses and journals more.
