Astromech MK4 Body, Legs & Drives Fusion added to the Fusion Reference List.

*Note* Previous shares will now come up with an unauthorised error, I do have links in some of the instructions also, so I'll work through all of this. Please use the latest list for all Fusion Links....

Access to the print files? Once you join you will receive a welcome email (it's also on the "membership" tab on patreon. This has the Patreon Onedrive link which has all the print files / instructions.(If you have issues accessing Onedrive, there's a Post below for the Google Drive also, this is an exact copy replicated overnight for those having Ondrive issues). In the root directory you'll find the "Start Here" folder containing a PDF showing all the models, links to videos and where the print files are located. The Fusion source files are for reference and modifications, the actual print files are on the onedrive and mostly oriented ready to print.

We now have the MK4 Body and MK4 legs added to the Fusion Source List!!!!

The Fusion files are excellent for reference, customisation and to help with building and learning. Any remix, or additions, please share with the group, I'm happy to create a folder in Onedrive for the STLs to share all the design with Patreons just ask.

If there’s something you’re after which isn’t on the list, just ping me and it can be added.

All the files are also excellent reference for building the model really help assembly.

Any other requests for the fusion designs just shout! Please share any remixes or remodels with the fabulous R2 Builders community.

All files are free to do whatever you want to with (except selling or making money from them, as many Bothans died to bring us this information!).

The password for all these are mrbaddeley as always.

Comments

hi ya again I am lost I would like to start printing the R2 dome but cant seam to be able to locate the files in the onedrive I can see the single print files but not the cut ones?

David Bombara

Also, I received an email to a link that would not open for the starter's guide. I would love to see the starter's guide but it wouldn't open. newbie alert. thx

Kelly Croy

I just logged in for the first time and I am LOST. LOL. Do I need fusion? Or are there files I can put right on my card for my Bambu P1S. Very confused. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Kelly Croy

can someone recommend an infill percentage and pattern for chopper's tpu caster?

Ellen Doyle

Thanks Mike, the file structure has grown organically and I’m very aware it’s a little unwieldy at the moment. The ‘Start Here PDF was a start towards giving an index and some indication of complexity of builds etc, hopefully it helps, but this year I do intend to focus on better / more logical file arrangements and consistency of folder structure.

Michael Baddeley

Hi everyone, I joined as a Patreon member at the beginning of December 2025, and I'm really enjoying being part of this community. I had been following along on Facebook for a while and finally decided to join so I could begin my own build. That said, I wanted to share some feedback that might help newer members like myself. When I first joined, I was lost trying to find files. Yes, links were provided, but in reality the files are scattered across multiple locations and nested in folders that don't always make sense. I struggled to locate what I needed. While I did eventually find the correct locations with help from friends and YouTube videos (thank you to those who helped!), navigating the current folder structure in OneDrive and Google Drive has been a real challenge. Honestly, the most reliable method I've found for locating anything is watching YouTube videos and talking with longtime members who point out where things are stored. I know I haven't found everything I need yet, but I've started printing the body, so I'm making progress! If you could spend some time cleaning up and creating a better file organization, it would be time well spent. I believe some improvements to how things are structured would make a big difference for new members trying to get started on their builds. A common folder structure that all builds follow would be a huge help. Anyway, lots of thoughts on this. As an IT guy myself for many years, unstructured data like this is a pain! Thanks, Mike

Mike Samples

I'm looking for the same thing. I have a bambu lab A1

Casey

Check you ‘membership tab’ or email when you joined, it has links to the OneDrive / Google Drive, where the print files are ready, you do not have to export from fusion, they’re ready to print with instructions. mK4 is the easiest set of files.

Michael Baddeley

Hi Everyone, Im here to build a "static" R2D2, minimal electronics, and non moving. Are the "MK4" files the files I should be using? And are the parts really that broken down? Like the body is over 800 parts?? is that right?

Jai

Hi, great work, Michael. I have just become a Patreon member and am looking to build the R2. I will be using a Bambu Labs H2S. Could you point me in the right direction for downloading the STL files, please? All of the links above are for Fusion, and it says I need a password. Is this where the STL files are, or should I download them elsewhere? Thanks for all your hard work. Kind Regards, Karl

Karl Bates

Any chance for any of the R5 domes? I am trying to assemble a v2 cut and the fusion files would help with putting this together. (Unless there is a decent assembly guide for an R5!)

Chris Phillips

The files are on the OneDrive, when you join patreon you get a message with a link (it’s also on the membership tab on patreon) this give link to the OneDrive with all the STL files oriented to print. Check the next few patreon posts also, there’s a back up google drive link which is a copy of OneDrive. In the root directory is a Start here folder with a PDF showing all the models and how it works.

Michael Baddeley

New here, trying to get the simplest R2 full size files that I can print of R2 that allow for full animation. I see the fusion files, is this where I will find the stl's needed? I saw some on etsy, but etsy has locked me out for no reason and is completely non responsive!!! I highly recommend that creators find a different sales outlet!!! i have bought and would buy good files if i could!!!

scoottle

Are the Baby R2 stl files available on the google drive?

Glenn Lasowski

Is there an overall parts list for chopper live action? I see them listed in each pdf just looking for a master list.

Ellen Doyle

I thought I saw a link for it somewhere but I cannot find it again

Anthony Sherman

Hi, I there is any option to get the fusion of BT1 (Danger dome)???

Jaime Acevedo

has anyone made the feet drives with brushless motors

Doug

The password is in the post above.. the print files are in the OneDrive, these are for reference or mods. Check the ‘welcome’ message on Patreon for the OneDrive link, and there’s a replica on GoogleDrive also, there’s a Patreon post about it. Check the ‘start here’ folder, the pdf explains how it all works.

Michael Baddeley

Im new at this 3d printing. Im trying to access the files for r2d2. But it's password protected. How do I access them. I downloaded and still can't get in

logan

I have the same Problem

Jens

I had the same issue. Search for the 'Stephen Mathis V4 modified dome' on the Google Drive - seems to be the same/very similar dome, but broken up into smaller models, include the upper and lower rings.

Steve O'Shea

Aloha Mr. B - I am attempting to access the MK4 Fusion Files and am getting the following "This link doesn't seem to be working. Either this content is no longer shared, or the address is incorrect" I am in need of the Skirt Design file for some modification. How do I access it?

Adam Jansen

Hi there, looking for the Mouse droid I found the uncut shells but cant find the full files with other parts anywhere?

Joe -Seph- Scott

How do I cut the parts for example in the MK4 R2D2 Simple Cut. What if I only want one singular piece like the upper ring but when I Download it is always the entire thing do I need Fusion Autodesk for that ?

Jens

hey so some off my prints just keep failing im trying to print the animated chopper dome is there a reason for this

mandroid

I know the MK4 body currently is manual 2-3-2, but could it be converted to run an auto 2-3-2 setup? Either with MK4 parts or MK3 parts?

Jimmy Madding

I have paid for my membership and I can't seem to download and of the MK4 droid builds I'm attempting my first droid build is anyone could send me the STL files that would be great

Aaron Colbear

c'est dans le dossier early bird puis dans le dossier mk4 astromech

Hi! What is the Fusion password?

Armando Lopez Torreblanca

Just starting my r2 printing journey! I am choosing to go with the mark iv and going to start with the dome. Do you have a date for when there will be a body with opening doors?

Andrew

bonjour je cherche les fichier stl du R2D2 version MK4

thierry marty

hello MR Baddeley will you make a -MK4 R2D2 Complex Body? and if you do how long before you post the files? thank you for your amazing work

stephane brousseau

Is the one drive down? I keep getting a ‘something went wrong’ screen when trying to access it :/

Tom Morgan

Hey! Any chance you could share a Fusion file for the MK4 battery box? (Totally possible I just overlooked it in the other files.)

ss3000

They are 4 inch Vex Omni wheels, not printed, you use bought ones. They’re in the instructions. The STL files are in the Patreon OneDrive, the link is in the welcome message and a post lower down shared the Google drive which is a copy of the OneDrive repository.

Michael Baddeley

Hey, im starting my first droid build and would start with the MK4 drives but i couldnt find the stls for the omni wheels. At least they are not in the early bird Folder.

Jonas v. Wallenberg

Is the MkIV Complex Dome(Single Print) Compatible with Tim Hebel's magnetic mounting system for the MkIII body? I'd like to put the MkIV dome on my existing body while the complex Mk IV body gets developed.

Ben Spacek

Started a MK4 build, did the simple dome print. My goal for my first build is to have an R2D2 that can be driven, the head can spin, and can make noises. Is the simple MK4 dome able to be mounted on like a lazy susan and attached to a motor for controlled rotation? I saw a recent video that was posted here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w1CEhhdYDk. It's not clear to me which STLs this is. Any advice would be most welcomed.

Bryce Knorp

Absolutely, the fusion stuff is just for reference and advance users who want to modify stuff. On the membership tab you’ll see a link to OneDrive, or scroll on the posts for the Google drive link, both are just copies.. once in, you’ll see a ‘start here’ folder and pdf, but all the stls, instructions and overviews are there.

Michael Baddeley

OK, so I just joined. Are there simple STL files? I have zero clue what to do with the Fusion stuff.

smokeriderdon

Back after a long break. Started printing the MK4 on my two Bambu machines. Was looking for a hardware list. Things like nuts, bolts, rods, washers, etc. Is there a respository? Looked on Astromech.net and in the Discord server but no luck.

Keith Kowalski

I am on the "dedicated supporter" tier but I am getting a "restricted access" message when I try to see some Fusion files. I am trying to get the R6 dome model from an older post.

XGTX

Thanks for the continued work and for making a 50+ year old Marine Corps vet smile every time I pass by a pile of R2 parts on the way to work. Will start printing MK4 legs on Sunday. It's nice to feel like a kid again.

Matt R

They’re there now.. EarlyBird - MK4 Astromech. OneDrive and GoogleDrive are the same, GoogleDrive replicates overnight.

Michael Baddeley

I'm sorry if this was already addressed but, did you mention that the MK4 Body stl files would be available on the Google drive?

Greg

The print files are in EarlyBird - MK4 Astromech, the links above are Fusion, source design, for those wanting reference or edit / mods

Michael Baddeley

Sorry Mr Baddeley, Fusion just constantly gives me “this file isn’t available” ? Is the Mark 4 body on the google drive?
