Picking an Element

(If you haven't read Chapter 73 yet, do so first so that you know about each element's properties.)
Edit: So the element of Light won with an overwhelming majority of the votes.
I think this will turn out to be a very interesting scenario indeed, as it is said that the Sun God bestows the power of light only on those with the noblest of hearts, so combining it with Darian's questionable personality will lead to many amusing situations...

2023-08-28 17:24:10 +0000 UTCI'd say it's mainly a question of time. Learning an element at a regular level usually takes around 10 years. While mastering the said element takes another 20–30 years on top of that, so the majority of mages in this world are only able to learn one or two elements at best before they kick the bucket. If someone focused on multiple elements, he would never be able to become a Master mage, thus losing all the fame and prestige that come with the title. That is why everyone likes to specialize, so it became a standard over the years. Thus, for Darian not to stand out, he too needs to pick an element, but of course he will continue to use the other ones too...

2023-08-28 17:00:16 +0000 UTCHe already should be able to cast Life spells with all his healing plant and alchemy work. I find this affinity business silly for wizards anyways. Wizards are meant to be generalists. Restricting yourself to one element just because it is easier is just putting limiters on one-self. He should just learn all the non-illegal schools. And setup an academy of his own a decade or two after graduating.
