Some bad Simulacrum news. Eldon x Harren has been scrapped.

I've been working on this simulacrum story since it was voted on, writing and rewriting it a few times, and it just feels frustrating because I can't make it work. Although I created the Simulacrum format so that I can stretch the canon into fanservice for you guys, I feel like this particular scenario is stretching it too far for me.

The thing is, while I am very happy that people enjoy all of these cool fanservice ideas, as the creator of this world I have a very particular idea about how the characters function and their experiences. If I force myself to write scenarios that run counter to that, it gives me a lot of cognitive dissonance. I've already avoided a lot of these situations by disallowing Jymsar content, and Alen x Chilas, as well as other implausible pairings, but I let this one slip.

I never would have pictured the first simulacrum scenario between Eldon and Reamus in the beginning, but as people talked more and more about liking Eldon, I felt like I wanted to do more with him, and I feel like their little romp together was something that enriched both of their characters.

I would never write that scenario as if Eldon and Reamus are in love or something like that, because Eldon's character has too much going on in different areas. Yet there is room in his character for him to express himself sexually as he did in that story.

At the time, I felt like Eldon x Harren was a really good idea, but as I started working on it I realized there are so many obstacles in the way of it. I should have thought about it harder before allowing it. In the future, I'm going to be a bit more aggressive about vetoing some scenarios so that I don't end up wasting so much time.

Now that I've spent some time thinking about it, I've decided that from now on simulacrum content will have to be one step closer to canon than I previously allowed them to be. To that end, I won't be doing any lewd simulacrum content with Gemmaborg, Chilas, Harren and/or Jymsar (except Jymsar x Reamus).

I'm thinking in the future I might hire another writer to help me with simulacrum content. Even if Eldon x Harren doesn't work for me, perhaps another writer can make a satisfying scenario for that pairing, regardless if it agrees with my feelings about their characters. But for now I'll only be working on the scenarios that feel very right to me.

I'm really sorry that I couldn't deliver this for you guys.
