I mean......this TECHNICALLY wasn't the song that started kpop, by the time they released this song they were already mad famous. The song (from 3 years before this) that's the actual START (or mostly agreed upon even tho there were "kpop" like dance songs prior to it) was Seo Tae Ji & Boys "You, In My Fantasy" which got them noticed in 1992 and then off their 2nd album in 93 the double songs of "I Know" and "Our Own Memory" basically started it all Saw a lot of people in your chat saying that this was same era as H.O.T. but that's not really correct, Seo Tai Ji debuted in 1991 while H.O.T. debuted in 1996 but was the first "kpop training system" group that existed Also saw a lot of people chatting that BTS covered them a lot.....what even a lot of international ARMY doesn't realize is that while Bang Shi Hyuk is credited as the guy who discovered BTS.....one of the talent scout he worked with to find all the boys from BTS was Seo Taiji (all these kpop executives have known each other for decades....back in the day during 1st and 2nd gen, all the kpop ceos would actually meet regularly and trade info/talk about talent/pass off talent if they were full/etc etc)
