"Smells like someone made another stinky in his diaper!"
Mav nodded sheepishly as Daddy grinned at him, clearly enjoying having caught the boy yet again.
"Well we should probably get you a fresh one, huh kiddo?"
"Es addy," Mav babbled through his pacifier.
Daddy helped the boy to his feet and ushered him over to the changing table. As they got closer, Mav felt the urge to prove something. Sure, he still wore baby clothes, sucked on a pacifier, and went peepee and poopy in his pants like a two-year-old. But Daddy had to know he could still be a big boy despite all that.
Mav picked up his pace and waddled eagerly ahead of Daddy so he could arrive at the changing table before him. Quickly, before Daddy could catch up to help him, he lifted his left leg and planted his foot firmly on the table's surface.
"Oh!" Daddy remarked amusedly. "Are you gonna get up there all by yourself today?"
Mav nodded with enthusiasm, the ring of his pacifier flapping clumsily with each movement of his head.
"Very impressive, kiddo!" Daddy replied, his wry grin growing wider as he watched the boy struggle. "If it wasn't for that load in your diaper, I'd say you're almost ready for preschool!"
