Not long ago, Daddy's words would have made Mav want to run and hide. Who could blame him? Few people over the age of three (let alone twenty) would want to be seen out in public dressed the way Mav was. The brightly colored hoodie and dino socks alone were enough to turn a few heads. Add the teddy bear hat, the big red pacifier, and the obvious diaper bulge under his sweatpants, and onlookers were sure be have a few thoughts.
But today, Mav could hardly care less. After so much time spent living each day as a two-year-old, the outfit he was wearing actually made him feel bigger. It was a refreshing change of pace from the overtly infantile getup Daddy usually put him in. For once, he wasn't wearing a onesie or a romper or just a t-shirt and a diaper. Today it was full sweats, just like the big kids wear. Nevermind the Sesame-Street color scheme or the big colorful teddy bear on the left thigh of his joggers. Nevermind the fact that he'd probably continue sucking on his binky the whole time he and Daddy were out. Nevermind that every time he bent over, his waistband would slide down and put the rear end of his diaper on full display. In Mav's mind, he was dressed to impress--confident and ready to take on the world.
No matter, Daddy thought to himself. A diaper check or two will cool him down.
