The Balkans is a geographical area in southeastern Europe with various geographical definitions. The region takes its name from the Balkan Mountains that stretch throughout the whole of Bulgaria. The highest point of the Balkans is Mount Musala, 2,925 metres (9,596 ft), in the Rila mountain range, Bulgaria.

BTE Balkans has the goal to rebuild the countries Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, and Bulgaria in Minecraft at a 1:1 scale. With over 80 builders and more than 700 Discord Members they are a large and active Build Team of BuildTheEarth. In total they already rebuilt over 400 buildings and they keep completing more and more every single day.

🌎 Ohrid, North-Macedonia

Ohrid is a small town in North Macedonia on a lake built in the medieval ages with old buildings still standing. BTE Balkans was able to finish the featured location in 2 weeks with immense detail. Every part of the build is worth gazing at due to its accuracy and details. Some restaurants and caffes have interiors with a small motel with interiors too which is great for exploring and roleplaying. You can swim in the lake or take a boat ride, walk along the medieval streets, have a dinner in the restaurant and sleep in the cozy motel rooms.

🏠 Sarajevo City Center, Bosnia

The Sarajevo City Center is the largest project in the history of the team. Special coded programs were used, 3D models got made to recreate that building in Minecraft. In the end it took the team 1 month of preparation and 6 months of building until it was finished. The build had no street view and no 3D so they took the reference data themselves. It features over 100+ hotel rooms, around 100 stores, restaurants and 4 underground parking levels to cover an area of 432,150 m3 of full interior that can take hours to fully explore!

🏠 School center Celje, Slovenia

One of the largest school centers in the region hosting around 3500 students across the country. The building is fully decorated with interior hosting around 100 classrooms, workshops, gymnasium, staff rooms, sport courts, gardens, multiple classrooms for chemistry, computers and such. Truly a great experience for the ones who want to get the nostalgia of the old school days and great for roleplays!

🏠 Ruse Central Railway Station, Bulgaria

A classic Eastern European Train Station built with immense detail and various building techniques. A good place to sit down and take a rest before you take a train to the next destinations that we feature.
