The BuildTheEarth Team Alps BTE has the goal to recreate Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein in Minecraft at a 1:1 scale in this project. The team has a size of over 3000 users, and they've already reconstructed more than 3000 buildings. With each passing day, the team continues to make remarkable progress towards their goal.

🌎 Hofburg, Vienna

The Hofburg in Vienna is a magnificent former imperial palace that sits at the heart of the city. It boasts a fascinating mix of architectual styles that reflect its expansion and renovation over the centuries. Today, the Hofburg is a vibrant cultural hub, home to the Austrian National Library and the offices of the President of Austria.

It is the biggest castle/palace built for some aristocrat in the world with regards to usable floor space (240.000 m²). That's why it took a group of our best builders one year to construct this huge site with passage ways and courtyards to explore.

The location has a size of 570 x 67 x 598 blocks.

🏠 Basel Minster

The Basel Münster (cathedral) is located in the center of the Basel old town atop a hill. It overlooks the river Rhine and can be accessed from Münsterplatz. During the earthquake of 1356, a large proportion of this cathedral was destroyed and had to be reconstructed. Even though its construction started as early as 1019, it wasn't fully finished until 1500.

🏠 Graz City Hall

This town hall is a beautiful sandstone structure located in the center of the Graz old town, right next to the main market square. Constructed at the end of the 19th century, over the years a lot of its intricate details and sculptures were damaged or have fallen off. It stands where two previous town halls were once located, the first one being built around 1550.

The location has a size of 102 x 49 x 117 blocks.

🏠 Chapel Bridge, Lucerne

The Kapellbrücke (chapel bridge) is a bridge spanning across the river Reuss, built in 1356 as part of the original fortifications of Lucerne. It's the oldest surviving truss bridge in the world, measuring around 200m. Due to its wooden elements, it caught fire in 1993 but has been restored since.

The location has a size of 179 x 39 x 135 blocks.
