[INFO] Iberia - 11/23

The BuildTheEarth Team BTE Iberia has the goal to recreate the Iberian Peninsula (Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar) as well as some outlying territories (Ceuta/Melilla, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Madeira and the Açores) in Minecraft at a 1:1 scale in this project.
The team has a size of over 700 users, and they've already reconstructed more than 1000 buildings. With each passing day, the team continues to make remarkable progress towards their goal.

🌎 Algarve Racetrack, Portugal

The Algarve International Circuit, commonly known as the Algarve racetrack, is a modern racing circuit located in Portimão, Portugal. Opened in 2008, it is known for its challenging and unique layout, featuring a mix of fast and slow corners, as well as significant elevation changes. The track stretches over 4.6 kilometers (about 2.9 miles) and comprises 15 turns, making it a favorite among drivers for its technical demands and exciting racing opportunities. It has hosted various high-profile racing events, including Formula 1, Superbike World Championship, and Le Mans Series. Additionally, the circuit is renowned for its spectator-friendly design, offering great viewing opportunities and modern facilities, enhancing the experience for both drivers and fans.

🏠 Mafra Palace, Portugal

The national palace of Mafra is a religious and royal palace built in the beginning of the XVIII century by the demand of the king João V of Portugal.  The palace is composed of two big towers in the corners of the facade where the king and queen rooms are located, the church, with its two towers, has 92 church bells making it the biggest collection off bells in the world, a library composed of numerous books from the early XIV century to the XIX century and thousands of rooms with various purposes.  The palace has 40.000 m2 making it one of the biggest monuments in Portugal.  In 2019 the building was inscribed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

🏠 Casa Batlló, Spain

Casa Batlló, is an extraordinary architectural gem nestled in the heart of Barcelona, stands as a testament to the creative genius of renowned architect Antoni Gaudí. Completed in 1906, this iconic modernist masterpiece is a symphony of curved lines, organic forms, and vibrant colors that harmonize to create an enchanting and otherworldly façade. Often referred to as the "House of Bones" due to its skeletal and whimsical appearance, Casa Batlló exemplifies Gaudí's visionary approach to architecture, blurring the lines between art and function. 🏠 Porto, Portugal

This location's largest landmark, The Ponte Luís I, is an iconic double-deck iron bridge spanning the Douro River in Porto, Portugal, it is a striking embodiment of 19th-century engineering and architectural ingenuity. Designed by the Belgian engineer Théophile Seyrig, a collaborator of Gustave Eiffel, the bridge's majestic arched structure seamlessly connects Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia. Its upper level accommodates tram and pedestrian traffic, while the lower level caters to vehicular passage.
