🧭 Booty Hunter – Devlog #6 – Weekly Update (Navigation System & Journal Overhaul)

Hey everyone!
Time for another devlog update on Booty Hunter! This week I focused on two big areas: Navigation and the complete remake of the Player Journal.

🌊 Navigation System – Smarter, Safer, Customizable

I spent some time refactoring the Travel Ship system, creating a brand new class to better manage how navigation works in the game. This gave me more control over how traveling behaves and allowed me to implement something that players had been asking for:

💬 A warning message if your supplies are going to run out during the trip.

No more losing levels cause you were without supplies!

On top of that, I also added a cheat option (for testing or those who prefer a quicker experience) to disable the travel system entirely, making all travels instant.

📘 Full Journal UI Redesign

The other major update this week was the remake of the Player Journal screens.
I’ve completely redesigned all the interfaces:

Inventory
Quests
Status
Skills
Crew
Compendium

The reason for this overhaul is simple — the new Job System added a lot of extra data, and the previous layout was just too small and cluttered to display everything cleanly.
The new Journal is much larger, with more breathing room for all the new features and future expansions.

I’ll be sharing screenshots so you can check out the visual improvements.

🔜 What’s Coming Next?

Next week, I’ll be finishing up the new Hunting System, which is the last big core system for version 0.10.
I’ll also be remaking the "Work at Bar" minigame, which is actually the oldest minigame in the game — and it really needs some love to match the quality of the newer systems.
