Vinny, I want you to give yourself a 1 year goal to make a loaf of bread fully self-sufficiently. Grow the wheat. Study the grinder you got so you can build your own, possibly less efficient version of it, and harvest wild yeast. It seems painful but totally feasible, and if you really need it one day, you will be the baker. Cook it on an open flame in a dutch oven. I'll give you the dutch oven as something you don't have to make yourself because cast iron dutch ovens are ubiquitous and indestructible. You can find one in the apocalypse.

If you are looking for a non-samurai Kurosawa movie I strongly recommend Ikiru (1952). One of my favorite movies of all time.

Victor Bleichner

I would highly recommend High and Low, it's a lot of film nerds favourite Kurosawa. It shift between three genres, and is about the wrong boy getting kidnapped. Check it out if you're ever feeling in the mood for a chamber drama/police prodedual/jazzy noir

Jeremy Tschetter

I wish Brad luck getting component from the mister into his CRT. It took me a lot of messing around and pulling my hair out + orders ($$) until I figured this out. If you ever need to know how to go from the analog board hdmi -> scart -> rgbs or from the vga -> composite let me know haha.

Michael

If any of you are desiring a little more Roman history, I strongly recommend Mike Duncan's (he of The History of Rome and Revolutions podcasts) book The Storm Before the Storm. He tells the story of the generation before Caesar in a highly entertaining way that also gives you a lot of insight into the major players and conflicts to come during the fall of the Republic.

Rory Donagh O'Breasail

I was saying Christopher Cross the whole time the yatch rock discussion started. Glad to see my memory isn't completely gone. Also I believe there was some talk of a series of Jimmy Buffett retirement homes at one time.
