Good afternoon guys,
Today we can finally show you the incredible set of hero miniatures coming this June 2023 to Highlands Miniatures for a new Sons of Ymir release.
It's been a complete challenge to sculpt the Great Dwarf King on Throne. We had many ideas in mind but we wasn't able to decide which one we would love to sculpt! We started and discarted the sculpt at least five times till we finally found a shape we liked.
The Great Dwarf King on Throne is probably the most difficult miniature we've sculpted for the Sons of Ymir, and probably one of the most important. We really wanted to capture and reflect the norse essence that has been the main theme behind this dwarf fantasy race.
The five Thronebearers also maintain the servant aesthetic we have developed for this army, as you can also see in the Ancient Dwarf Forge or carrying the Dwarf King on shield.
It took us many, many hours to complete this sculpt, but also the Dwarf Prince with hammer and shield and the Dwarf Lord with Battle Banner, so we really hope you like them.
Oh, and remember, the June 2023 Release will be composed of:

"...The throne was crafted by the very first dwarfs. Their skilled hands meticulously shaped the structure into a magnificent boat. What made the Ancient Dwarf Throne truly remarkable, however, were the five strapping dwarfs known as the Thronebearers. Chosen for their exceptional strength, unwavering loyalty, and unparalleled honor, they were tasked with carrying the magnificent throne upon their broad shoulders.
The Dwarf Throne itself held not only physical grandeur but also profound symbolic significance. Its boat-like structure harkened back to ancient times when the dwarfs were known for their prowess in seafaring and exploration. It embodied the very spirit of their northern homeland, where icy fjords and towering peaks stretched as far as the eye could see..."

"...It was said that the throne held the power to unite the clans, serving as a beacon of hope and strength in times of darkness and strife. Songs were sung, stories were told, and the memory of the dwarfs' glorious past was kept alive. The throne stood as a testament to the ingenuity and skill of their ancestors, reminding them of their shared heritage and the strength that lay within their lineage.
They knew that as long as it stood, their legacy would endure, and the dwarven spirit would forever be invincible..."

The Dwarf Lord with Banner will include an alternative version with a banner without engravings.
