July 2023 Preview: A new age for Sunland!

Good evening guys,

We are back from our -really short- holidays with an incredible miniature preview post here in Patreon, the complete and massive Sunland Batallion coming this July 2023 to Highlands Miniatures, but first:

First of all, thank you for your lovely words and recommendation in our previous post about our little holidays to Italy. Marta and I had a wonderful time there, we visit many awesome places and went to eat to some of your recommended trattorias. 

As a 3D sculptor I have had a blast walking through all those breathtaking sculptures done in marble and stone many centuries ago. It was also amazing to see how -even then- the use of heroic proportions in sculptures was heavily used to represent mythological and biblical interpertation of characters, being the David of Michelangelo the biggest expression of these proportions. 

We also had the chance to visit the Bargello Museum in Florence and the incredible blacksmith gallery inside the museum, full of renaissance armours and weapons, giving me the final inspiration to deliver this amazing new set of Sunland miniatures.

We came back full of energy and ready to deliver more amazing set of miniatures in the following months!

In a never ending effort to bring you the best quality miniatures possible, we decided a few months ago that there was a clear need to update the old line of Sunland miniatures to match our current sculpt direction and to bring those miniatures to a proper light.

As estated in the Highlands Miniatures Roadmap for 2023, we reserved the following July 2023 to begin with this process and for that matter we have worked very hard to release a massive set of new sculpted Sunland miniatures to replace but also to add to the available line.

All the miniatures come with modular heads. The goal with this new range of Sunland miniatures is to be able to use any of the available heads in any of the available miniatures, so there will be plenty of heads to add variation to the miniatures. 

We will come back again in the future to Sunland to continue updating the line and to bring more and exciting miniatures!

The July 2023 Release will be composed of:

• 3x Sunland Troops with Halberds Command Group
• 7x Sunland Troops with Swords
• 3x Sunland Troops with Swords Command Group
• 7x Sunland Arquebusiers and Crossbowmen
• 1x Sunland Great Cannon
• 3x Sunland Great Cannon Crew
• 3x Sunland Pistoleers Horses
• 5x Sunland Pistoleers
• 4x Sunland Pistoleers with Repeater Guns
• 1x Sunland Pistoleer with hand mortar
