October 2023 Preview: The rise of the dunes!

In today's preview you can see the first set of miniatures coming to Highlands Miniatures for the Eternal Dynasties -our ancient egyptian themed undeads- this October 2023.
Yes! A new massive set of undead miniatures designed to quickstart your fantasy army in the best way possible. Get ready for the spookiest season of all!
But first, a few words from Ramon:
As many of you know, here in Highlands Miniatures we are very fond of the undead themes and it is already a tradition to work on these spooky enemies every October or as we call it here, Spooktober. But this month it is going to be even more special as it will be based on the Ancient Egypt.
Since I was a kid I have been in love with Ancient Egypt and the history that surrounds that period. Pharaohs, mummies, curses... I even wanted to become an archaeologist after watching the movie The Mummy and after playing with the Egyptians in the Age of Mythology games!
So, in order to design these miniatures we went -as always- to our favourite historical illustrators and books to identify the key design elements that were found in the Ancient Egypt. We also took inspiration from the films and games mentioned above.
The rounded long shields, bracelets and egyptian hats play a key part in the design of the miniatures as the rest of the armour was mainly composed of leather and clothes, now long gone for these dusty skeletons.
All these miniatures come as single pieces. The shields come separated from the miniatures.
We are working on a huge set of miniatures for this October so... stay tuned for more!

2023-09-24 21:11:14 +0000 UTCWhat I think is fun about this army is that it can be relatively grounded (as much as living skeletons can be!) just undead Egyptians all the way to living statues, walking monuments, giant skeletons, and so on. Good design.
