NUDE DANCE .

 Isadora Duncan Since Isadora Duncan discovered the almost or completely nude dancers of ancient Greek art in museums on painted vases, bowls, plates, etc., nude dance became for her the ideal of a future artistic dance, which would supposedly replace ballet. “The Greeks, in all their painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, dance, and tragedy, developed their movements from the movement of nature [...] That is why the art of the Greeks is not a national or distinctive art, but has been and will be the art of all humanity for all time.” Walking, swimming, sunbathing, sports, and games together in nature, preferably without clothing and if possible without observers, in a “light dress,” became the basis of the naturist or nudist movement in Germany. Since Isadora was unable to persuade her New York teachers, she sought new horizons. She was able to exhibit her art in London and was very successful. She soon captivated audiences and toured European capitals, dancing and mesmerizing with her free swaying on stage, without slippers or tutus.

EL BAILE DESNUDO de Isadora Duncan

Desde que Isadora Duncan descubrió por sí misma en los museos a las bailarinas casi o totalmente desnudas de la antigüedad griega en jarrones pintados, cuencos, platos, etc., la danza desnuda se convirtió para ella en el ideal de una futura danza artística, que supuestamente, reemplazaría al ballet.

“Los griegos en toda su pintura, escultura, arquitectura, literatura, danza y tragedia desarrollaron sus movimientos a partir del movimiento de la naturaleza [...] Es por eso que el arte de los griegos no es un arte nacional o característico, sino que ha sido y será sea el arte de toda la humanidad para todos los tiempos.

Caminar, nadar, tomar el sol, deportes y juegos juntos en la naturaleza, preferiblemente sin ropa y de ser posible sin observadores, con un “vestido ligero”, se convirtió en la base del movimiento naturista o nudista en Alemania.

Como Isadora no pudo persuadir a sus maestros neoyorquinos buscó nuevos horizontes.

Pudo mostrar su arte en Londres y fue muy exitosa. Pronto fascinó a los auditorios y recorrió las capitales europeas, bailando e hipnotizando con su mecerse libre en escena, sin zapatillas ni tutús.
