Struggles as an Artist/Podcast?

Hey guys! <3

I hope you are doing well, for me this month has been quite challenging mentally (pretty much having an emotional breakdown every day lol ) to be honest and I was thinking I want to start doing some sort of podcast, to just talk about Art/life things with you.

I want to not only share what I know in a technical way but also just every other thing that revolves around being an Artist.

For the first one I want to talk about what I have been feeling/dealing these last couple of weeks and ways I try to deal with it, but also wanted to ask you if you have any question or topic you want me to talk about regarding any struggles you might have as an Artist yourselfs, so we can talk about it and feel better together  ★ .

That´s all, I miss you guys, I miss painting ;___;

I would love something like this! I have a lot of anxiety about beginning projects and I end up procrastinating for days/weeks/months, and could definitely use advice from other artists!

Just a topic suggestion: I find that I'm really good at starting big projects or drawing courses/tutorials, but I often lose motivation and find it a lot harder to finish them (especially when there's no dead line or social pressure). Would be helpful to hear your thoughts on being consistent and how to push yourself.

There's a thin line between doing what we like and work with what we like. It's so easy to mix it but is really hard to separate when is necessary. I think every artist has this feeling and the difficulty to manage it. Would be great to speak up it with a good community, it will help to unload the pressure and ease the spirit. Plus will be nice to know more about you. I can wait to see it. Thanks to being here : )

Dear Fernanda, I'm not an artist myself. I'm an artist lover! :) Still trying from time to time to draw some lines and that's it. :p I have some questions such as, your culture, what made you express your self through art. What is your part in the frustration that many artists have when they want to finish their project. However, most of all I would like to hear the voice of Fernanda Suarez! Thanks!

Hey, Fernanda! I'd love to listen a podcast from you and all your thoughts about being a artist! I hope it will make you good, to talk about it and free the weight in your chest about wherever topic! I would love to listen how you dealt with the anxiety about not being good enough, overthinking. I'm kinda new, only 5 years drawing but I'm constantly near a panic attack about not being good enough as a artist and a professional. All love from the world! ❤

One of the things I struggle with is equating how "good" a piece of artwork is with the amount of likes/comments it gets. I almost wish I couldn't see the numbers because it skews my perceptions of my own work. I hope making a podcast is cathartic for you! Please don't pressure yourself to turn your struggles into content if it turns out that it's just more burdensome. You're allowed to just be a person for a while. When I'm struggling to create, I find this video to be really validating and helpful: https://youtu.be/TsEsHfF1f4U She asks the question, "if you are what you make, then who are you when you're not making anything?" I don't know if it's applicable to what you're going through, just thought I'd throw it out there. Good luck with everything. ♥

Fernanda! *Hugs* This hasn't been an easy time for I think, idk, 80+% of the world? I'd love to listen to a podcast from you, if you put something out! But take off all the time you need. My GF was doing patreon for a while too, and eventually had to stop because she was getting so stressed and torn between the personal work and our paid jobs, on top of the stress of producing for patreon. I know something I always struggle with is the whole getting started process and blank canvas syndrome stuff. If you have anything for that. XD Stay well! We miss you too, but do what you gotta do!
