Here is a new sketch I will be working on while also working on the Persephone sketch, that one will take a while.
I think something that really helps with not getting burned out, at least for me, is to alternate, for example after a more complicated very planned out piece like the ones for my Greek gods, I enjoy something a bit more relax and where I have room to experiment or just do what I feel in the moment, then feel much more recharged for a new more complex Illustration.

Hey Sany!, sure!, I start thinking about it for a while before I start, usually a couple of the characters will pop in my head more clearly, from there I really try to imagine them in my mind, and play with which colors I would use, different details, personality etc. Once I have at least a couple of them imagined I do very rough sketches of them on a notepad, and I mean VERY rough lol, just so I don´t forget the concept I imagined for them. Then is time for me to start, so first thing is picking one to start then I do my research, specially if it is something like the greek gods, so try to learn more about them and all that, see how can I transform their elements to my own design, and after that I make a sort of mood board, with different inspirational images, references etc.

2021-09-07 13:43:31 +0000 UTCBeautiful! Can i ask how you go about planning a series like the greek gods one? I am having ideas for a series but my thoughts on how to plan and organise it are all over the place which then makes me feel overwhelmed so I’d love to hear about your process.
