Recruitment into the Earth Defence Legion has been slowing at an alarming rate. It has been three months since Private Alice Price joined our ranks, and we only accepted her due to a lack of other options.

Private Price weighed in at an alarming 204 Kilograms, by all means too obese to join. However, considering she was the only one who applied, we had no other options. Unfortunately, her eating habits have not changed.

She was granted triple her rations and it STILL isn’t enough for her ravenous gut. Not only that, but she can’t even fit into any of the standard armor. Being noble and charitable, I elected to take her under my wing and train her back to a healthy weight. Somehow, she managed to put on another 20 Kilos since joining.

I’d be remiss to not mention that it may be my fault. I have noticed her sedentary life is much more relaxing than vigorous training. Alas, she’s not been alone in her adipose gain. I too now sport a paunch and have had to mend my uniform to larger sizes.

I have difficulty fighting the urge to indulge like Private Price but it is sometimes too much to resist. But I must persevere for the sake of my soldiers!

Still, I can only think of those delicious, sweet rations. Perhaps my weight loss can begin another day….
