3D Printing Toolkit : Part 1 - Resin Post Processing

Hello Everyone!

When you first get into 3D printing, it is easy to think you just need a 3D printer and resin. There are a lot of little tools that can greatly improve your 3D printing experience. Here is Part 1 of my toolkit covering resin 3D printing!

1️⃣ STEP ONE : Cleaning Goodies!

For IPA you can use 91% too, it doesn't need to be 99%. The IPA wipes are nice for cleaning your workspace. You can just dab IPA on a papertowel too. I like having some sort of mat for my workspace too. I just grab a cheap one off Amazon which is normally used under dog water bowls. I use the funnel and filter to strain the resin from my vat whenever I change colors or have large print failures.

2️⃣ STEP TWO : Cure Your Prints!

You can use the sun or any UV lamp, even a UV nail lamp. I just like the convenience. It spins around and it is lit from the top and bottom. I feel like I get a much more even cure using the station. All brands of cure station seem fine to me, I've used Elegoo & Anycubic. Pick your favorite!

3️⃣ STEP THREE : Sanding!

Sometimes you have little support marks or imperfections. These are my tools! The snips I use to remove supports, and the rotary tool is for smoothing down any marks/imperfections. Another little tip : if you have pock marks from supports you can fix that too! By pock marks I mean little holes. Just dab a little bit of resin with a paintbrush, cure it with your UV lamp, and then sand it down. Fixed!
