In the MST3K group (current lineup) the character of Gypsy has been retitled GPC. To say that you have been Gypped is to say that you have been stolen from. Its all a bit complicated and there are many worse derogatory problems, but i've heard the preference for Romani or just Roma. Any people who move around tend to get mistreated : see Jews.

2023-08-05 06:26:34 +0000 UTCI can't tell if Adam is memeing or not by scolding Scoot for saying Gypsy. They say it like a million times in the "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame". Pretty sure it's just an informal name for a cultural group and/or that style of clothes. Considering the edgy stuff they routinely joke about I'm surprised this was an issue, particularly since it's clear Scoot isn't being hateful. Anyway, maybe I misunderstood.
