April Sketches, Part 3

Hey guys! Here is some more progress on the map.

My week has been a little hectic. I'm currently experimenting with ways to expand on my Twitter following, as well as catching up with many overdue commissions. Thankfully one of the trickiest ones is finally over. I've also made progress on some of my other projects but I'm saving those up for later. I find that with the more complex studies, it's best to keep them inside the workshop for as long as possible.

Regarding Origins, I've spent a good portion of the week going back to many of my inspiration sources, chief amongst them ancient history and Mesoamerican history. My brain has been firing up on all cylinders and I'm more than happy to put these ideas into practice. I've also began compiling some guidelines regarding the languages and nomenclature for the world of Asana. I'm sure those of you who speak to me regularly will immediately notice how that carries over to the map and other facets of the graphic novel.

As a bonus, here is the outline of the tropical continent located far to the south of Ydin. Take a wild guess which of the characters I've revealed calls it their homeland! I'm hesitant to mark the location of forestation on the map, since I've seen many fantasy maps not doing that. But considering that the jungle will be such a major part in determining the geography of this realm, I'm not sure. We'll think of something along the way.

Things to do still for Origins include outlining the eastern reaches of the world, where another prominent race originates from. Although I imagine I'll get on that at a much later date, since it won't be relevant at the start.

Thank you sincerely for your support and until next time, farewell!

Edit: The shoreline, at this stage, is 99% final and canon. The terrain itself, however, is still very much work in progress, though rest assured I have the basic framework set in stone.
