good news everyone! tablet up and running again. credit where it was due, my old, very cheap wacom lasted a good 5+ years, and frankly was in need of a replacement before my hand was forced on it. thanks so much to everyone who put in a comm request, retweeted the post etc etc. with that all said, i decided to finish up something i actually started on the old tablet. here's what i had originally wrote:

i was terribly saddened to hear of david lynch's passing earlier this year. you might not've guessed it, but he was and is a huge inspiration to me as an artist, and a filmmaker who i've been a huge fan of for several years now. i thought it only fair to pay homage both in a way i think he'd like to be remembered and fitting for the art i post here: surrounded by beautiful women.

if you get the chance, i highly recommend pretty much all his films, but in particular mulholland drive, blue velvet and if you have a lot more time on your hands, and twin peaks (the whole thing in release order).
