June Update.

Risen from the dirt, aching, sore, but alive! It is I- NeoShadows!

And boy do I have a lot to say and dish out for you famished patrons.

May was...an interesting month for me. Work-wise; I’ve been hella busy(yes, hella is a word. Big whoop, want to fight about it?). I got a new menu item I’ve been working on for years approved by the CEO of the restaurant, so I’ve been hyping it up to all my guests and getting feedback on how it tastes. With the weather clearing it, it means more and more guests are coming out to enjoy a nice meal, so things are picking up at a hectic pace. Not to mention letting go of certain staff members and training new ones can take up a bunch of energy. Work really has been sucking the vigor out of me lately.

And, well, (cough), I, uh, did go a little wild with parties and meeting with certain ‘friends’ for nights out too. To the point all the fun peaked a week ago in a night of heavy drinking, celebrating, flirting, and more heavy drinking. Got too drunk, threw up in my shared ride, got kicked out and stranded in a random neighborhood while drunk out of my mind, and thanks to the kindness of two strangers, made it back home, sore, bruised, and stinking drunk. Passed out for twelve hours.

...I, uh, think I’ll take a break from drinking for a long while. Can’t even look at a beer without my stomaching twisting like a corkscrew.

But enough of my excuses! Let’s finally get to what’s going on with June’s updates and releases!

May was a killer month, so I haven’t had the time to do as much writing as I’d like. But it doesn’t mean I haven’t been hitting those keystrokes. I have been in the development of my other works like A Certain Unfortunate Trainer, Of Lines That Can Be Found In Between, and A Certain Influx of Time Traveling Misfits. Trouble is that I’m constantly flitting back and forth between documents. But now that I’m taking a break from going out for drinks and late-night rendezvous, I should be able to start pumping chapters out again. I really want to get back to my Pokemon Xover as soon as possible.

Now, while I’m at it and giving you some samples of our next hot dishes to come; A Question from your chef!

What else do you think I should offer ya?

I’ve been mulling a lot about this Patreon thing for some time now. And while I do offer Sneak Peeks, Early Taste. The occasional 86 The Meal and even rarer Original Dish, I feel that it’s not enough. Can’t I do more? You are all supporting me, so I want to be able to make that support worth it, you know?

So, I’ve been pondering a few ideas that I would like feedback on. Which is why this entire post will be free to everyone who comes upon this month’s update.

Experimental Recipe #1: Commissions!

Yes, yes, yes. Can’t tell ya how many PMs on my fanfiction inbox have been about inquiring about commission work for stories. Enough to finally have me seriously giving the idea some thought. I’m in the midst of trying to work around how it would work, what Tier members would be given the chance to have their idea considered, how much to charge for a piece, and how long the one-shot would be. In a way, I’ve already done one commission for free for a friend- The Kuroko one-shot in Of Lines. Give me your thoughts on it when ya have a moment.

Experimental Recipe #2: Discord!

We’ve just enough members on my Patreon to make that a possibility. I’ve thought up of creating a space to let others who like my work share ideas, drawings, advice, and talk among one another about stories. Kinda like a writing guild of sorts. A place to better chat with Patrons about the latest happenings and plans for stories and ideas. Tell me what you think.

Experimental Recipe #3: Game Nights!

Despite how busy I can be, yes, I do play games...when I can. Hell, if you know of Darkbetrayer on FF.net, he’s one of my gaming night buddies. Everyone likes to play games and chat about life, so why not? I can always find nights to set aside time to game with Patrons of certain Tiers, give a new game a go, and adventure and junk. Not a bad idea and one I’m sure many would like, so let me know if that’s something we can do.

Right now, those 3 recipes are what are highly likely to be made into actual options. I might do one; I might do all 3. Feedback is always important for a chef, do don’t be afraid to say your piece or have thoughts on any other ideas I could do. God knows I’d love more people to play Helldivers2 with.

June is a time of sunshine, kicking your feet back, and taking a breath of fresh air. But I still got plenty of work to do. While I will do a bit of basking in the sun when I can, I got to get those late orders moving out for ya famished patrons. It’s time to prep the kitchen and get to cooking!
