Dark Age Fortress Builder WIP

Ladies and Gentlemen,

today I can show you some test builds I have made, showcasing the different wall module lengths and possible combinations of crennellation type and foundation skin. I have actually added one more thing last minute - a pointy posts version of the wall - so no pic of that yet.

I have planned to release the Fortress Builder in the usual 3 step way I like to do (walls, towers, gates) but realized that unlike the previous buildings I have done, this split doesn't make any sense. None of these modules on their own are very helpful in building something useful. So after some talk  with friends I I have decided to go another way this time. The first set will contain all the wall modules and the small gate as a starter edition. Then a follow-up expansion edition will have the towers, the large gate and the roof options.

I think this way it should be a much more satisfying way to build stuff you can use right away.

I will soon start to work on the well so I hope to have something to show on that front too soon :)

Chris

I was referring to the stone kind that stood for hundreds of years and protected the old cities long after the Romans left. I think these wooden walls would already work great for the less permanent Roman forts. (I added a couple of pics to the comunity page.)

What kind of Roman walls? Stone walls or wooden? If you can send me (or post) some pics.

Thanks. Great to hear. I am also very happy that I am picking up speed again :)

This is very exciting to see. Glad it's coming together. Last night I spent a couple spare hours searching the internet for contemporary classical architecture papercraft options, but still coming up with pretty much nothing. At some point my Viking adventurers are going to be visiting an actual town surrounded by old Roman walls. When that time comes I'd like to keep using paper. If you happen to know any sources for that, please let me know. If you've any plans to create a Roman walls, towers, gate, set in the future, please let us know that too. ;)
