Dark Age Fortress WIP

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's time to start having some fun! I have completed the bastion module now too, giving me all the modules I wanted for my large fortress layout. So this weekend I setup my huge 6x4" gaming table, slapped on the large battlemat and started to place it all into position.

The fortress walls and the village within came together very nicely. Dressing it all up with scatter details and minis took a while though :) I didn't realize how many crates, wagons, fences and other bits I have already created over the years and it was a joy to use them all to help bring the setup to life.

Lighting was an issue for taking pics. Usually I use two strong LED lights on my working table for the usual smaller configurations of stuff I make. But here with basically having no equip for a set of this size I had to turn to extreme long exposure and post processing in Lightroom.

I went with my LotR minis for a first run and I will do a second one with paperminis (which I have to prepapre yet!)

Above you can see a pixelized sneak peek of one of the shots I have taken. I hope it gets you as excited as me when I took it :)

I am going to take a break this week as we've been invited to a house in the mountains (extended family) again but when I get back I look forward to finish the wide gate module, making a ton of paperminis and then take more pics of a huge fortress setup! And of course to release the banner bits!!!

Regarding the release of the DAFB2 set, I will go with a rolling release again, where in phase I you will get the biggies (towers, bastion and wide gate) so builders can start building stuff. And as soon as I get it done the missing things like the roof options will be added (same as I have done for the first set). The release date will be in August as I don't have much missing for phase I. I have already started working on the wide gate and once that's finished  it's just adding final details and packaging it all up.

That's it for today. Until the next time, stay safe and keep building!

Chris
