Norse Village / Fortress photoshoot (part I)

Ladies and gentlemen,

while I am working on the getting the final touches done for the DAFB#2 set I wanted to share with you the first of my pics taken on the 6x4" gaming table.

This size table allowed me to go big with my buildings, setting up a village plus fortifications. With my old LotR minis I decided to have the goblins attack the village (they even brought the troll!) while the Rohan forces scramble to setup defense positions.

I have used buildings from the NVB and DAFB series, the fences set with the broken bits which I love plus lots of basic bits to add some interesting detailing.

It was a lot of fun to setup and capture and I look forward to making more pics. Next time I will use paperminis from my favorite creators and try some variations with the building layout.

Now I take my leave and go back to finish the DAFB#2 set so I can release end of the week!

Chris

You do have a point regarding paper minis not needing to be painted and saving time can be very beneficial. Also, I really do like the idea of a game mat made of durable material like a mouse pad. Thanks again!

Jay

Thanks Jay! I am using a battle map from gamemat.eu but there are many companies that make these kind. They are like huge mouse pads. Regarding the minis, I love both the paperminis (esp. when I want many really fast) and also the painted ones - although I am not sure my eyes still work on the detail level required to paint there. I have been collecting the GW LotR range for a while with my stepson but there are so many brands out there. Just google what you are interested in and you will find your selection of choice.

Great setup! I need a good grass base foundation like the one your using here. Is this one of your products or another creator? Also, considering using 3D minis rather than paper. Do you have any recommendations for a particular brand? Anyway, really like what you've done here.

Jay

Short answer, no. I don't feel it's right to go in with such a huge collection of works. Plus there is so much going on in my life, I am happy when I get my planned sets out and can do a little marketing. Have to talk to Squirmydad how he feels about it.

soooo... you're going to enter this pic in papercuts right?
