Nexus Mods...

If you haven't heard already Nexus Mods implemented a change last week that basically prevents authors from deleting their files in favor of allowing it to stay "archived" so that their Collections API or other shit  can access that "archived" file. The file remains and can still be downloaded, even if you were to delete the mod or delete your account ... The only seeming way your files will be permanently deleted off Nexus' database is if you serve them legal paperwork to remove the content, to which they have shown that they will retaliate against users for that..

This to me is an egregious breach of trust and the fact they snuck it in, waited almost a week before announcing it officially, and are silently saying something about it instead of announcing it site wide like they can do with everything else has pushed me to my done point with Nexus Mods for now.

It should be a MOD AUTHOR'S choice to participate in "collections", Modpacks, whatever the hell you want to call it, period, full stop, end of discussion.
IF you need to force authors into participating into this system, then it's a bad system and you should throw it in the trash

Nexus forcing this on Authors and doing it silently so that people who didn't want to opt in on this can't remove their work and go elsewhere shows that they are no longer the Author friendly space they purport to be. They knew there were people who weren't wanting to participate in this system and if given the chance and knowledge that the system was coming soon, would have left and taken their files with them elsewhere before this change occurred. The sneaky implementation of this shows that they did this to trap authors into this system whether it was wanted or not by the authors and I do not support that behavior, especially of what is supposed to be a reputable modding site.

The Release of Daisy - Red Hot Demidevil marks the final time I will be uploading a mod to Nexus Mods until further notice. I have hidden all but a few mods that I cant post on Patreon. Any new content for now will remain on my Patreon, while I work on an accessible place for my content.

As always, thank you all for your support, kind words and encouragement to keep doing what I do, and I'm sorry for this inconveience. I wish it didn't have to be this way, but this is something you should bring to NexusMods. They made their bed, they can lie in it. And the fact that instead of actually owning up to it and making sure everyone knows of this change, they are trying to keep it buried down and hidden away should tell you everything you need to know.(edited)
