I had many feels while drawing this page. Not only because Duane is having many feels, but because I got to revisit their fight back in chapter 7 and see if I could do it a little better. I definitely, definitely have improved since then, and it was very gratifying to realise :3
Duane has a perfectly clear memory as a dead man. With no organic, faulty, squishy brain to warp them, his memories are all as clear as the present. When faced with someone with whom he's spent most of his life and of whom he has so many memories, they must all swirl around him, confusing past and present. Lemuel is all Lemuels at once, and he loves them all so much.
