2025-11-03 07:10:43 +0000 UTCI have watched this show so many times now and I still can't get used to David Schwimmer playing Lt. Sobel. I mean you spend all those years watching him as Ross so when you see him you see.... well, Ross. Not saying he didn't do a good job, if he was meant to convey being a hard-ass on those men he damn well made it happen. It just when you see Winters and Nixon discussing who trained them at the beginning of the episode and then that person appears you definitely aren't expecting the guy whose most famous catchphrase is "we were on a break".

2025-11-02 23:30:19 +0000 UTCYeah, Sobel definitely seemed to have at least some of the skills to train them, but would have been really unreliable in real combat. Schwimmer does a great job in that scene, even after being really harsh and uncompromising with the men we still feel a bit bad for him when he gets reassigned.
