2023-08-13 18:14:04 +0000 UTCI would think that's it partly cuz it's massively changed his perspective and he wants time to process it before telling anyone at all. And Sette *did* just betray him even if he recognized that he's kind of out of control and they've been lying to each other all along about like, everything. And yeah, as someone else mentioned, Sette is a good judge of character and will tear holes in his Aldish reunion tour plan. But, my first thought was... ultimately, though Sette seems to like Duane more than he likes her, and though their relationship is healthiest when they're partners-in-crime and least healthiest when it veers into dead-dad-and-replacement-daughter... he *does* like her, and he knows she'd be, if not jealous, feel like she had been replaced; he may not love her but he doesn't want to hurt her. Not really; snipe and criticize and berate, yes, but not to truly and deeply hurt her. And so it is easier for both if she just returns to Thieves Guild: The Country none the wiser and he continues on to Magic Hair North Korea without her.
